I just came across some scary information though.  In the efforts of some to save money or just be adventurous, there are those who are attempting to create their own e-liquid. When doing this, they are adding their own nicotine.  This is something extremely hazardous!

Nicotine is not something to be handled lightly.  In fact, if handled improperly it can and will kill you. As little as a single 60mg drop can leave you 6 feet under. Effects will be felt as a nicotine overdose. The typical dizzyness, nausea, and even vomiting – and before you know it it’s too late.

Here is a list of symptoms to be aware of:

• Vomiting and nausea, diarrhea
  
• Headaches
• Troubled Breathing
• Wanness or Pallor (paleness)
  
• Sweating
• Heart Palpitations
• Stomach Cramps
• Drooling
• Fatigue

And ultimately a severe nicotine overdose can cause death.

In the pursuit of nicotine extraction techniques, most methods are untested and can prove dangerous. The formulation of substances used with your electronic cigarette really should be left in the hands of trained chemists. Taking these experiments into your own hands can not only be hazardous for you, but for your family as well.

Be smart.  Order cartridges and don’t play with creating your own concoctions. If there is a flavor or modification you desire, please contact Njoy directly and let them know. They are extremely accomodating, and the safety to their customers is a priority.

Justin Rocket Silverman reported that Lindsay Lohan is a fan of “dissolvable tobacco” pill Ariva.  Did no one tell Lindsay about the e-cig?  It looks like Ariva is a powdered chewing tobacco.  While tobacco in it’s pure form does leave behind the glue and other elements brought on by cigarettes, there is no denying that the electronic cigarette with it’s 4 simple ingredients has got to be the king of tobacco addiction alternatives.

Snus is another hot topic.  Loose snus or packed snus.  The packed one comes in something like a teabag. Loose snus is kept near the gum like chewing tobacco.  Snus dates back to the late 1700’s.  I’ve never used the stuff, but I gotta wonder if you have to spit the stuff up.  And additional problem here is that you are selling an actual tobacco product and the taxes will be imposed.  I also wonder how the mouth is left tasting.

Snuff which is also referred to as “cowboy cocaine” is tobacco that is snorted.  Apparently this is confused with cocaine in public places at times, and burns to use.  It delivers an immediate nicotine blast to the user and has been around for at least 400 years.

Crown 7 got the honorable mention as a brand of electronic cigarette.  I one part of this article really gave me a giggle:

It’s not certain how local bars and restaurants will take to the Crown 7 if it catches on in NYC, but there’s no law against boiling water indoors, which is essentially what the device does.

That was a really good explanation I thought. The atomizer and the battery work with the propylene glycol to create a steam which looks like smoke. But we all know there is no real smoke or fire.

I wish Mr. Silverman had seen the NJOY NPRO. That would have really had him going. The example picture provided was of a cigar style electronic smoking device. The NPRO in white looks just like a regular cigarette. I think that may have really converted readers quickly who enjoy smoking their tobacco.

It appears to be the size of a traditional cigarette, and comes in silver or white.

I’ll be anxious to try this new one – and being the non-conventional gal I am I will probably go for the silver.

So there’s the exciting slide show.

I got up for my morning coffee and e-cig, and the coffee was fine, but there was no smoke.  I thought at first maybe I needed a new cartridge, so I replaced it.  Still, no smoke.  Then I thought maybe something was wrong with the battery.  Nope.

A feeling of despair came over me.  I had felt so good, and really had stuck to just my electronic cigarette.

As much as I have cut back on smoking, I am not completely weened from nicotine. But with my electronic cigarette I was able to continue working in one place.  I had not seen or smelled a dirty ashtray in days.

Luckily for me, I purchased an NJOY.  I knew I was covered with their one year warranty.  I knew they would fix this problem.

I had been planning to order a second electronic cigarette to use with the no nicotine cartridges, and had been delaying.  So now I needed to call in.

I talked to Jim at NJOY and he was extremely accomodating.  He assured me he would have a replacement atomizer on it’s way immediately.  I ordered a second NJOY as well.  I realize now that it will be beneficial in more ways than one.

But for the time being, I was still going to have to cover myself for a couple of days and resort back to cigarettes.  I was not happy about having to shell out the extra money.

After visiting the store, I went to light up and I was so disgusted.  The taste was dirty and the smoke felt heavy.  We have a smoking area in the basement – and it was back to there for me.  While I could resort to regular cigarettes, it just was an awful feeling.  I did notice one thing – the pack lasted me a really long time as I could not smoke an entire cigarette in one sitting.

A couple days later my new atomizer finally arrived.  It probably would have come sooner, but I’m currently in a very remote area.  I was so relieved, and anxious to return to my new normal feeling.

I also was excited over the arrival of my new NJOY.  I got the black one.  I have to say, it looks even better than in the pictures.  Very stylish and classy.

I feel very confident now – and know with the back-up I will always be prepared.  I can also say I am extremely happy with NJOY’s customer service and warranty.

I’m not sure if she is using NJOY.  I know for a fact that some of the other brands (especially the shorter models) do not have as much nicotine in them.

Everyone’s individual smoking habits may have a direct bearing on how effective a cart is for you.  I do believe however that the carts from Njoy are the equivalent of one and a half to two packs of cigarettes.  How do I know this?

When I replace a fresh cartridge in my Njoy, it lasts me the same amount of time that roughly one and a half to two packs used to last me.  It varies slightly on the day.  If I’m having a glass of wine in the evening or lounging on the deck, I have been known to smoke a bit more.

I am able to feel when the nicotine level in my body has hit the “limit” I am used to.  If I go too high, I am turned off to smoking for many hours.

It is my suspicion that this person did not order properly.  I was a former ultra-light smoker, but my carts are “light.”  The carts are all the same size, just the nicotine in them is different.  The same as when you buy cigarettes.  Perhaps this person was smoking or taking in more nicotine then they realize.

In any case, even if a cart is the equivalent of just one pack of cigarettes, it is still cheaper than buying packs from the store.  And a lot healthier.

When you order, be sure to really analyze how much you smoke and get the proper carts to begin.  NJOY comes with an assortment on the new kits – so you are able to try them all.  If you are unsure, be sure to note when you put a fresh cartridge in and time how long it lasts you.

I am already feeling a million times better since the switch, and I have started to notice some changes to my palate.

I spent some time last night looking at vintage cigarette cases. There are so many different kinds – I never realized! I want something special for my e-cigarette. This has really been making a huge change in my life over the past week in so many different ways.

I took a peek at some other video on youtube, and noticed people are also excited about electric cigarette machines that actually let you drop your tobacco in and will roll your cigarettes for you. This machine looked a bit clumsy and not really a space saver. I could see where I may have considered something like that if I had not found the e-cigarettes, but to be honest, I’m glad I don’t have to deal with that.

I am currently visiting with family who are trying to sell their property.  There was a lot of ruckus this morning as the real estate lady was coming by.  Normally I’d be shoed outside if I wanted to smoke.  Confidently I stayed in my room, and used my NJOY.  I never would have been able to use a regular cigarette in my room.

I’ve been visiting some family in upstate NY, and just a week ago the cigarette tax raised the price of my Benson and Hedges Deluxe Ultra Lights up by about another dollar. These have always been a little more than something like a standard Marlboro. The realization of the now nearly $7.00 a day habit had me a bit on edge.

I’ve done the patch before – a couple of times. By about day 3 the nightmares and crazy dreams would begin. I had to move the patch quite often as my skin would turn red. And the price on the patches was just as bad as actually buying cigarettes. The difference was I didn’t get that wiggy feeling if I just continued to smoke.

I got very excited when I came across a video for NJOY. Not only did it sound less toxic than cigarettes, but the price could not be beat. Sure – I was going to have to buy the initial kit – but even so it came to less money over the course of a few weeks when I factored the savings on ordering the cartridges.

The offer could not be beat. If for any reason I was not happy with the product I could return it all for a refund, used, no questions asked.

So I had done it. I ordered and now it was sitting before me in a brown box.

From my research I knew the first thing I needed to do was charge the batteries.

I had just finished my morning coffee – as well as the last 3 cigarettes I had in a pack. 3 hours was the initial charging time suggested. The charge would be complete when the light turned green. I waited probably less than an hour and the charge was full.

The kit came with 4 cartridges. Full, medium, light, and a nicotine free. Light had been suggested for an ultra light smoker, so I proceeded to take the cartridge out of the well sealed container and load it into the chamber.

I screwed the battery into the other side and proceeded to take that first hit.

The first thing I noticed was a bit of a “whizzing noise” and realized I didn’t need nearly as much suction to get the smoke. I took a long slow drag, held it in for a moment, and watched as the smoke billowed.

Wow.

I immediately felt the nicotine like I would with a cigarette but noticed something a little different and actually quite nice. The flavor was like a smooth tobacco with possible undertones of strawberry. The smoke, which is actually a vapor did look like real smoke!

A few hours later I finally got a ride into town and had to pick up some Father’s Day cards and items, as well as a couple of packs of Marlboro’s for my other half who was working. I purchased 1 pack of my old cigarettes as a back-up just in case things got weird. I never opened it yesterday. I didn’t feel the need to.

Last night I did some work late on the computer. Instead of running down to the basement to have a cigarette I stayed put and e-smoked in the room I was working in. No hovering clouds of smoke to annoy anyone, and no trace of any odors you would usually encounter after someone smoked in a room. The windows were closed and the air was clean. No fear of smoke getting into the electronics of the computer either.

This morning I got up, made my coffee, and continued on with the NJOY. Curiosity got the best of me and I decided to open the B&H just to see how it would be after using the e-cigarette.

Strangely, my old cigarette left a bit of a dirty taste in my mouth. It also just was not as enjoyable. I put it out and went back for the Njoy. Later in the day my fiance came home and was shocked I had not used the cigarettes.

I am ordering some more cartridges, and I don’t want to look back. I am thinking of getting the lights and the nicotine free and alternating.

This is looking a whole lot healthier than smoking, it tastes better, and I think when I am really ready to quit this will be the ticket.
