Will the Electronic Cigarette be a Coffin Nail to Traditional Cigarettes?

Written by admin on July 26, 2008 – 11:22 am -

The electronic cigarette has already begun to cause a bit of a stir amongst smokers. Many smokers are beginning to share how this device has lightened a heavy feeling in the lungs and returned the senses of smell as well as taste buds.

The increasing taxes on cigarettes, especially those in New York City have many smokers starting to consider the advantages to switching to electronic cigarettes.

While this device has not been given the official status of a smoking cessation device, many smokers have already used it to quit.

So, what will this mean for the cigarette companies? And will tobacco growers be forced into finding new uses for the tobacco plant in general?

Until such times as the Governments of the world really take some action, people will continue to smoke.I live in Canberra Australia, for the past 20 years there has been no smoking in office buildings, clubs, restuarants or retail malls and very soon it is going to apply to all outdoor areas. I believe that our smokers are down to about 20% and many of them, say that they are embarassed by the habit. Its just a matter of time before we are a smoke free city, but lets not be too hard on the hardcore smokers:
    1. It is not illegal to smoke
    2. It is an addiction

I think the electronic cigarette is great, but personally I think it is best for those who are trying to quit rather than as a replacement. Just my opinion.

    Hi Jonathan,

There are a lot of people who have incorporated this device into their everyday life and have no desire to quit. I think it’s a win win in both scenarios. Those who want to quit and those who just want to smoke healthier.
